Came early before they opened on a Thur at 10.24 am and they were nice enough to let me in a little early and serve me early since my flight was leaving soon and I needed to eat and run. Got the bbq ribs, mac & cheese, and greens. The mac and cheese was good and the greens were solid. The ribs were reasonably good but not as good as youd find at a bbq place. The place is squeeky clean and nostalgic, almost a step back to a simpler time. The manager and servers were friendly and great.
If the most amazing food is what you are after then maybe not here. But good solid food at a very good price and an authentic experience of a working class cafeteria meal in Nashville is what you are after then this place is it. -

Here is where you can find Not bad kitchen style grub. It felt like a cafeteria style. You tellum what you want, say please and thank you, and they put it on your plate. Price is decent. I Love the sweet tea and lemonade, but my fried chicken was kinda stale and dry, though their sides are pretty good. the green beans was amazin, definitely drowned in with pork broth. The cobbler was okay, rich and sweet, but cold. My Mac and cheese was just cheesy and not crunchy. I think the veggies were the winners in this trade. Sorry sir, maybe it was an off day.

coming from out of town I knew I had to try this traditional meat and 3. Dont come here expecting a five star meal. its more of an experience if you are from out of town. Staff is so nice and so are the patrons. It would be on my list to go back to if I get back to nashville

First time at Dandgure's and it most certainly won't be my last. This is classic Southern cooking at its finest. It's family owned, and the service is the sweetest. It's a great alternative to Arnold's if you want to switch things up. My girlfriend and I wandered in on a Friday afternoon and lucked out because they were serving fried chicken. It's buffet style. She got the dark meat, and I got the white meat. Each entree comes with two sides and corn bread or a roll. Mac and cheese, collard greens, cole slaw and green beans were all banging. Be sure to order cobbler or pie for dessert. The latter blueberry was divine.

More of a 2.5 stars experience for a-OK Southern food.
Parking is via a small gravel lot or along street. Building has a large can't-miss mural.
Came here for lunch during the week and was fortunate to just be ahead of the lunch crowd. There was a line starting to form after 11:30AM. Service is cafeteria-style. So grab your tray and utensils and get in line.
Restaurant reminds me of visiting your old Auntie's house. Random memorabilia on the walls with 1970's floor tiling. Definitely a local spot tailored more to the blue collar working crowd. Saw quite a few construction guys coming in for lunch.
Servers were friendly and happy to make recommendations.
Menu changes on the daily. For Thursday, we tried:
- BBQ Ribs: Best meat choice. Meat falls off the bone for sure! Flavors were good. Nice and smoky with some sweetness.
- Fried Pork Chops: Kind of bland. Meat was a tad too dry.
- Green beans: Just OK.
- Cheese and broccoli casserole: Not impressed. Not much flavor.
- Sweet potatoes: Seasoned well and perfectly sweet.
- Jalapeno cornbread: Definitely the better option. Their regular cornbread tasted like a hockey puck. I prefer my cornbread to be a tad sweet so this was disappointing.
- Banana Pudding: Highlight! So, so good! One of the best I've had!
- Peach Cobbler: Too sweet for me. Not enough peach. Crust was hard.
Not the best meat and three place I've had in Nashville. Nothing really WOWed me and my leftovers the next day were MEH. I felt Arnold's was better in terms of flavors, variety and service. Hard to compete against tough competition.
